When Daimler U.S.-subsidiary Freightliner introduced the new Cascadia in spring 2017, the truck set new standards in connectivity, fuel efficiency and safety. Since then, its interior has not only been keeping drivers excited: The jury of Good Design Awards, one of the most prestigious competitions for industrial design, is awarding the U.S.-truck’s attractive and functional design. The DTNA-flagship wins the award for the design of its cabin interior. The jury chose the winner out of product designs of some of the most successful brands in the world, covering all industries.
The new Cascadia’s interior combines innovative technology with ergonomic design. It offers an optimized dashboard and a multitude of seat-configurations. Also the drivers‘ “living room“ was designed to offer more storage as well as spaces for standard-sized microwaves and flat panel TVs.
Since its start of sales, Daimler’s North American commercial vehicle division sold over 20,000 units of the new Cascadia. With a most recent market share of 39.2% (PY 40%) in the 6-8 tons categories, Daimler Trucks remains the undisputed market leader in medium- and heavy-duty trucks segments in North America by a large margin. In the NAFTA-region, Daimler Trucks continues to be in an excellent situation concerning orders.
