Medium and heavy truck sales rose 15% in July

New economic figures show sales of medium and heavy trucks rose 15% in July compared to the same period last year, and were 7% higher than June sales figures. 

Sales of Class 8 trucks were up 23% (18,793 versus 15,340) compared to July 2013 while Class 7 truck sales were up 49% (6,320 trucks sold).

Overall truck sales for the year so far have been up 9% compared to 2013, with both Class 8 and Class 7 truck sales rising 17% for the year. Sales for all classes of truck have been up except for Class 3, and the biggest increase has been in Class 4 truck sales.
