AVL Says Normalization of Electrification Will Bring Down Component Design Time and Costs

As electrification increases in many applications, the cost and engineering time needed to develop the necessary components will continue to decrease.

In this week’s episode of OEM Industry Update, we speak with Kevin Rhodes, Chief Engineer of Electrification at AVL, about the electrification trends the company is seeing currently. Rhodes says there is a lot of interest in everything from small mobility applications all the way up to heavy-duty off-road equipment. As development in this area continues to increase, it will help to bring down costs and engineering time for electric components, and help normalize electrification.
