New Holland, in conjunction with Saf-T-Cab Inc., has introduced the T4 Series with the new “KOOL-CAB” Fruit Cab, the next generation of low profile tractors designed for use in almond, walnut, pistachio and other tree fruit markets.
“Based on the input from growers, the ‘KOOL-CAB’ was designed to make operators more comfortable in the often hot, rugged conditions in which they work, while still keeping the overall low-profile needed for a Fruit Cab intact,” says Brian Peranick, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Saf-T-Cab.
New technology reduces heat inside the cab
The “KOOL-CAB” incorporates new technology designed to reduce the radiant heat inside the cab to keep the operator cool and comfortable. The sleek design of the “KOOL-CAB” keeps the overall height of the tractor to under 90 in. It incorporates safety glass that will only crack, rather than crumble, if broken by a tree limb and heavy-duty limb risers to help gently sweep the low-hanging limbs up and over the tractor to protect valuable low-hanging fruit.
T4 Series tractors for outstanding productivity and efficiency
The new “KOOL-CAB” is offered on New Holland’s T4.105 and T4.115 models. “The ‘KOOL-CAB’ and the T4 Series tractors are a great combination. All the productivity-enhancing features of the T4 Series tractors are fully integrated with this new cab technology to provide operators with the optimal operating environment,” says Justin Raski, New Holland Brand Marketing Manager for Mid-Range Tractors.
The CommandArc console helps reduce fatigue and increase operator precision because all controls fall perfectly to hand for operators of all sizes. A dedicated foot pedal to adjust the position of the steering column is located on the floor between the clutch and brake pedals. This pedal provides operators with a comfortable driving position with an unobstructed view of the easy-to-read instrument cluster.
T4 Series tractors are fitted with a 207-cubic-inch (3.4 liter), Common Rail F5C engine, which has been developed in partnership with FPT Industrial for agricultural operations. These engines benefit from state-of-the-art Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (CEGR) technology for Tier 4 Interim (Tier 4A) compliance. In alignment with New Holland's Tier 4A plan, machines producing under 120 hp are fitted with CEGR technology due to reduced cooling demands.
F5C engines deliver between 106 and 114 engine horsepower and offer outstanding transient response thanks to Common Rail technology. Productivity in demanding conditions is further enhanced with an impressive 35% torque rise. Sustained maximum power is available from 1,900 to 2,300 rpm, the most common operating band, to deliver outstanding flexibility in the majority of tasks. Furthermore, all engines are compliant with B20, 20% biodiesel.
