GE Mining Displays Products Aimed at Improving Productivity and Efficiency at MINExpo 2016

Various products GE Mining had on display included its Predix cloud-based operating platform, the 7 Ton Battery Powered LHD, as well as a wheel and drive system used in Komatsu mining haul trucks.

GE Mining works together with customers to transform a mine’s operations to meet the many challenges of today’s mining industry. From the delivery of reliable power in remote regions, to water supply and discharge treatment, to maximizing the productivity of operations, GE's intelligent products and solutions are developed and delivered with customers to address specific business challenges in the most productive, most efficient, and even more importantly, the safest way possible.

GE has a long history in mining, ranging from electric propulsion drives for offhighway vehicles to water treatment technologies. GE Mining Solutions brings these technologies together into integrated systems. For example, in mine dewatering it leverages motors from GE Energy Connections, multistage pumping systems and condition monitoring developed by GE Oil & Gas, and asset performance management from GE Digital.

GE Mining leverages GE’s Digital Solutions to bring together a global exchange of digital tools and expertise specifically for the mining industry, powered by GE’s Industrial Internet platform Predix - the world’s first and only open, cloud-based operating platform built exclusively for industry. With one common, connected language and a dedicated Predix Cloud built for industrial data, GE offers the strength, scale and security required for mines to thrive in the new industrial era.

At the 2016 MINExpo, GE Mining showcased how it transforms mines' operations together in Central Hall Booth #6911.

In addition to its portfolio of electric propulsion drives, GE Mining showcased its 7 Ton Battery Powered LHD, Modular E-house System and Digital Productivity Solutions.
