Heat, cold, shock, vibration, water, mud or dust – modern mobile machines must work reliably under all kinds of conditions. To ensure this, the machines need sensors that record and provide data continuously even under the harshest conditions. To acquire and send this data, sensor specialist SIKO has developed PURE.MOBILE technology and brought it onto the market as a sensor kit.

The PURE.MOBILE sensor kit has been designed and developed exclusively for position-detection in utility vehicles. Unlike many of the sensors available on the market that were originally developed for stationary machine construction and are then merely adapted for utility vehicles, PURE.MOBILE sensors from SIKO have been developed exclusively for applications of this sort. And this pays off for machine manufacturers and users alike. Every PURE.MOBILE sensor meets the EMC requirements for construction, agricultural and forestry machines, the requirements of E1 (UN ECE R10) for road vehicles, and is based on wear-free, robust, magnetic sensing technology. A wide temperature range from -40-85 C (optionally up to 105 C), a protection class of at least IP65 (up to IP69K) as well as high shock and vibration resistance underline this. "This sturdiness is also necessary, because in almost no other machine construction sector are sensors subjected to such large loads as in mobile machines – and during their entire service life," emphasizes Mathias Roth, Mobile Automation Sector Manager at SIKO.

Flexible down to the very last detail and configurable for every application

The flexibility of the extendible modular design is also unique. Users can thus select option cards to add further functions to SIKO rotary encoders with PURE.MOBILE technology. For example with an integrated inclination sensor, a DIP switch for easy parameterization, or digital inputs and outputs. Thanks to the flexibly configurable option cards that ensure that the sensor core is not touched, customer-specific adaptations and functional extensions can be implemented cost-effectively even for smaller quantities. All of the sensors with PURE.MOBILE technology are also available in a safety version for applications up to Performance Level d (PLd). These features are rounded off by a large number of interfaces to choose from. In addition to the familiar analog current or voltage interfaces, the user can also choose from among CANopen, CANopen Safety or the SAE J1939 interface.

SIKO sensors equipped with PURE.MOBILE technology thus ensure flexibility, sturdiness and safety, laying a technologically advanced basis for the automation, digitization and efficiency of mobile machines.
