SIKO has introduced its NEO series of wire-actuated encoders, designed for use in mobile machinery such as construction equipment, industrial trucks, and cranes. The new series includes the SG31NEO and SG61NEO models, which feature a compact and robust design for demanding off-highway applications.
- Offers measuring lengths of up to 3.2 m (SG31NEO) and 6 m (SG61NEO).
- Features a compact housing up to 32% slimmer than previous models for installation in tight spaces.
- Utilizes a contactless, wear-free magnetic measurement principle.
- Integrated mechatronic multiturn system operates without a battery or energy-harvesting components for maintenance-free operation.
- Impact-resistant reinforced plastic housing withstands exposure to various media and direct sunlight.
- Meets IP67 and optional IP6K9K protection standards.
- Provides high resistance to shock and vibration.
- E1 approval according to UN ECE R10.
- Designed for reliable operation in temperatures as low as –40 C and under continuous moisture.
- A CANopen interface transmits position, speed, and other process and status information for integration into machine control systems.
- Installation is simplified with a choice of a radial or axial M12 connector.
- Available with a wide selection of wire types, anti-icing options, and multiple cable attachment variants.
The new sensor technology is based on SIKO’s PURE.MOBILE sensor platform, which was developed specifically for the requirements of mobile machines and off-highway vehicles.
“The NEO series clearly demonstrates the ambition we pursue in the field of draw-wire sensors for mobile machines. It combines robustness, precision, and modularity at an entirely new level and reinforces our leading role in this segment,” said Mathias Roth, Head of the Mobile Automation Business Unit at SIKO, in the company's press release announcing the new product.
