POSITAL has enhanced its IXARC family of incremental magnetic encoders, increasing the maximum resolution to 32,768 pulses per revolution (PPR). This upgrade includes new phasing options, offering a choice of wider index (Z) pulses, making it easier to replicate the features of older encoders – an important feature for the maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) market. They are rated for shock loads up to 300g and can be ordered with heavy-duty bearings (shaft loads up to 180N), making them a suitable for harsh environments such as mining, off-road and offshore.
This higher resolution is made possible by the introduction of TMR magnetic sensor technologies. Power consumption has also been reduced, another important consideration for MRO buyers.
IXARC incremental magnetic encoders are programmable. Resolution (anywhere from 1 to 32,768 PPR), pulse direction (A before B or B before A), index pulse width, and output drivers (HTL or TTL) are all controlled by software parameters. Customers can order the configurations they need pre-set at the factory or can customize their encoders on-site with POSITAL’s convenient UBIFAST programing tool.
These encoders are available in many mechanical configurations. Customers can choose housing materials, mounting flanges (compatible with European, North American, and Asian standards), shaft configurations, connector types, and environmental protection levels (up to IP69K). For food and beverage applications, 316L stainless steel housings are available.
