Grede Holdings LLC, a leading manufacturer of high quality cast, machined and assembled components for the transportation and industrial markets, announced its St. Cloud, MN, facility was awarded a bronze certification from Caterpillar Inc. as part of its Supplier Quality Excellence Program (SQEP). The St. Cloud plant supplies Caterpillar with stabilizer legs for its backhoe loaders, as well as hubs, caps, links and covers for its construction/mining equipment and large dump trucks.
“We are very excited to once again be honored by Caterpillar, one of our largest customers, with this prestigious certification,” said Todd Heavin, Grede’s senior vice president and chief operating officer (COO). “Our St. Cloud facility, as with all our manufacturing plants, are committed to achieving excellence on behalf of our customers every day and providing value from initial product design through manufacturing and delivery.”
The St. Cloud facility is the third Grede facility to earn Caterpillar’s SQEP certification. In 2010, the company’s Bessemer, Ala., and New Castle, Ind., plants earned the award, and more Grede facilities are expected to earn it in 2011. “It’s an important award for us because it means the facilities receive preferred status on new business,” said Heavin.
