The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) recently urged the federal government to develop and implement a comprehensive national strategy for manufacturing to strengthen the economy, create new jobs and ensure the United States is the best place in the world for equipment manufacturers. Especially, during these difficult times, and as we look to rebuild our economy, there needs to be a national priority by the entire federal government to better equip U.S. manufacturing.

Now, AEM and its grassroots campaign, I Make America, is calling on the entire equipment manufacturing industry to join together in calling on Congress and the Trump administration to commit to installing the national strategy.

By signing this petition, you can help ensure the federal government does more to cut costs, improve coordination, and ensure greater accountability in a way that will benefit all of our 2.8 million men and women. You’ll help make sure our elected officials:

  • Create a national institute that would serve as a hub for all federal manufacturing programs in the executive branch and coordinate federal manufacturing policy across agencies;
  • Establish a Chief Manufacturing Officer reporting directly to the President of the United States and responsible for developing and carrying out the national manufacturing strategy; and
  • Form a National Manufacturing Council to provide non-partisan advice to the President on how to strengthen the manufacturing sector and ensure the future competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing in the global economy.

With your help, we can demand Congress and the Trump administration prioritize American manufacturing.
