Paulo Receives Approval as Heat Treat Source for GM Powertrain

Paulo Products Comp. has received approval as a heat treat supplier for General Motors Powertrain.

The St. Louis, MO facility of Paulo Products Company has successfully completed all necessary testing and has received provisional approval as a supplier to the Powertrain Division of General Motors. This approval authorizes Paulo to heat treat per GM Casting Tooling Standard HPDC-G-2 for GM tooling sources and others who utilize the GM Spec. GM Powertrain primarily makes components for GM cars and trucks. The division also sells engines, transmissions, castings and components to many other automotive, marine and industrial customers.

In order to heat treat components for GM suppliers, the heat treater must successfully pass furnace performance tests as well as material testing. This achievement demonstrates Paulo’s capability and commitment to meet the world class requirements of GM’s Specifications. Paulo – St.  Louis joins Paulo – Nashville as two of the select few heat treaters who have the GM approval. “We are extremely pleased with this accomplishment. It reflects the capability and quality of our equipment and our people. It will benefit us as well as our customers,” says Bob Innes, St. Louis Plant Manager. Paulo plants in St. Louis and Nashville feature vacuum heat treating with 10-bar quench capability.
