Gradall Introduces New XL 5300 III Excavator

Gradall announces the release of its new XL 5300 III excavator, which is the company's largest excavator with a wheeled undercarriage to date.

Gradall Xl5300 Iii Excavator

Weighing 51,216 lbs. (23,213 kg), the XL 5300 III introduced by Gradall Industries is the largest model in the Gradall collection of excavators with wheeled undercarriages designed for high productivity jobs on every terrain.

The XL 5300 III, with the new yellow Gradall color scheme, has a maximum reach of 33 ft., 10 in. (10.3 m) at grade and a maximum dig depth of 24 ft., 7 in. (7.5 m). Its rated bucket breakout force is 25,405 lbs. (113 kN) and the rated boom force is 24,941 lbs. (111 kN).

Sure-footed both on and off pavement, the rubber tire undercarriage will not damage concrete or asphalt surfaces while providing an exceptionally stable work platform. In fact, the XL 5300 III can work at the front, rear or either side of the undercarriage without the need to lower its optional outriggers or optional grading blade for extra stability.

Mobility is enhanced by a design utilizing a full-time, four-wheel drive transfer case that delivers power from the hydraulic drive motor to the drive axles. Both axles have wet-disc brakes.

The famous Gradall telescoping, full-tilting boom can precisely position buckets, hammers, grapples, shears and other attachments without losing power – an advantage over conventional models with boom-end tilting mechanisms. A short tail swing allows the big machine to work in tight spaces and along highways with minimal traffic interruption.

Operator efficiency and safety can be impacted with several advantages, including a full view of the entire boom during the complete dig cycle. The operator cab offers increased comfort with sound-deadening capabilities, a large seat with built-in joysticks and a convenient switch that allows the operator to select the Gradall, Deere or SAE joystick pattern. Repositioning is accomplished with foot pedals.

A host of attachments are available for the XL 5300 III, including excavating buckets, grading blades, boom extensions, trenching buckets, pavement removal buckets, limb shearers, ditching buckets, fixed thumb grapple, live booms and dredging buckets.

Over 80% of the service parts on all current Gradall machines are interchangeable, simplifying inventory processes to assure normal service parts are available. Optional equipment includes: vandalism protection kit, intake air pre-cleaner, strobe light, block heater and auxiliary hydraulics.
