The Tier 4 Final solution from Cummins Inc. features modifications of its QSK50 Tier 2 engine solution. The injection pressure has been increased to up to 2200 bar which allows for in-cylinder particulate matter reduction.
For NOx reduction, the SCR system replaces the silencers in the machines. Jim Trueblood, VP of High Horsepower Engineering says fuel consumption can be reduced up to 5% to 10% and have a high level of reliability and durability.
