March Medium and Heavy Truck Sales Decrease 5%

New data from Wards Communications shows sales of medium and heavy trucks decreased 5% in March compared to the previous year, but were up 21% compared to February 2017.

A total of 62,631 trucks with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) rating above 10,000 lbs. were sold during March. 

Class 8 truck sales decreased 26% compared to March 2016, while Class 7 sales were down 4%.

For the year so far, truck sales are down 3% from 2016; Class 8 sales are down 29% compared to the same period and Class 7 sales down 5%. However, total sales for all classes are up 6%.
