WABCO's South Carolina Facility Produces Two-Millionth Air Compressor

WABCO's production facility in South Carolina has produced its two-millionth air compress, which is supplied to Cummins Engines and major commercial vehicle makers.

WABCO Holdings Inc., a global technology leader and tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, announces that its joint-venture factory in Charleston, SC, has recently produced its two-millionth high performance air compressor.

Located in Charleston, WABCO Compressor Manufacturing is majority owned by WABCO in partnership with Cummins Inc.

WABCO in South Carolina designs and manufactures innovative single- and twin-cylinder air compressors for diesel engines in commercial vehicle applications. It supplies five Cummins factories as well as the Cummins Product Distribution Center in North America and exports to eight other Cummins facilities worldwide. Cummins Inc. is a global power leader through its engines and related technologies that serve customers in approximately 190 countries. WABCO has a long-term supply agreement with Cummins to furnish air compressors for applications in trucks, buses and industrial equipment worldwide.

WABCO in South Carolina also supplies several other globally operating manufacturers of diesel engines and commercial vehicles.

Founded in 1996, WABCO’s manufacturing facility in South Carolina has been recognized year after year by Cummins as a customer-focused and outstanding supplier. Cummins awarded its overall Engine Business top honor to WABCO in 2010 as “Supplier of the Year” and it also named WABCO as the winner of its “Best Delivery and Capacity” award.
