Yanmar has introduced the YV01 autonomous spraying robot for use in vineyards. The robot can be used for wine growing operations of all sizes and is designed to offer enhanced safety, productivity, cost reductions and versatility.

The robot’s light weight and compact dimensions enable it to climb and descend slopes up to 45% as well as ensure minimal soil compaction. Use of Yanmar’s electrostatic spraying mechanism ensures precise spraying of vines.

According to Yanmar, the YV01 is ideally suited for vineyards with narrow pathways and short vines. The robot is entering the testing and evaluation phase, and sales are expected to begin in 2022.
