Bergstrom Names New Global Director of Operations

Armando Alanis, a 30-year industry veteran, has been named Bergstrom's Global Director of Operations responsible for enhancing operational efficiency and market growth.

Bergstrom Inc., a global leader in the design and supply of climate systems to the commercial vehicle industry, has appointed Armando Alanis, a 30-year veteran of the automotive and metal mechanical components industries, as its Global Director of Operations.

In his new role, Alanis will oversee all of Bergstrom’s manufacturing operations to enhance operational efficiency and implement new directives for accommodating future growth. Bergstrom has engineering, sourcing, testing and manufacturing facilities around the world, including Spain, UK, China, Turkey, Brazil, Russia, India and more.

“Armando is a recognized leader in our industry whose experience is a valuable asset to the Bergstrom team,” says President & CEO of Bergstrom Jack Shaffer. “By helping us establish performance metrics, policies and procedures related to global operations, he will play an integral role in further growing our success.”

Alanis joined Bergstrom in 2014 and has been integral in implementing lean manufacturing principles in the plastics molding and HVAC systems assembly areas of Bergstrom’s San Antonio, TX, plant. He has also worked to further enhance the company’s manufacturing technologies and new product development processes.

Alanis is a recognized leader in the industry having held positions at Emerson, Valeo, Hella, Benteler, Automotive Lighting and his own consulting firm prior to joining Bergstrom Inc.
