On June 3 during closing ceremonies of the Heavy Duty Distributor’s Council’s (HDDC) 30th Annual Business Conference held in Gatineau, Quebec, Phillips Industries presented a check in the amount of $18,214 for the SickKids Foundation. The donation was made possible through the generous help of Phillips’ most loyal customers who participated in the company’s “Buy Some, Give Some” campaign. This is the 14th year that attendees to the HDDC Annual Business Conference contributed to the SickKids Foundation. In 2014 total contributions to the charity were over $85,000.

This year Phillips Industries established the “Buy Some, Give Some” campaign to increase its contribution level. Phillips offered a discount to HDDC members for purchases between May 12 and June 4 and then set aside a portion of the proceeds to go to the charity. Rob Phillips, President of the company, commented during presentation of the check, “Phillips is committed to giving back to the communities in which we work and we were so pleased to be a part of this great effort on behalf of HDDC to give back to their communities. Each year we are happy to see so many contributions going to the SickKids Foundation during the annual convention. HDDC should be very proud that they encourage all of their suppliers to participate.”

Established in 1972 in Canada, SickKids Foundation raises funds on behalf of The Hospital for Sick Children. The foundation's fundraising is driven by the belief that improving the health and well-being of children is one of the most powerful ways to improve society.
