GuideStar II Mirror-Mount-Based Laser Beam Steering Correction System

New Focus, a Newport Corporation Brand, announces the release of its Picomotor mirror-mount-based laser beam steering correction system, the GuideStar II. 

• Provides high reliability and high precision control of laser pointing and position drift
• Includes two independent Picomotor-actuated, motorized mirror mounts to provide both manual and active four-axis control with outstanding passive stability
• Two miniature CMOS cameras provide position sensing and continuous tracking of both laser beam positions and laser beam profiles
• Control algorithm ensures correct alignment of laser beam in both the x and y, and near- and far-fields
• Controller can be connected to both cameras and to a Windows computer using USB ports
• Allows viewing of beam profiles, position and shape data in real-time,
• Data can be tracked, stored and analyzed at a later date
• Intuitive and easy-to-use settings menus permit user control over a wide range of camera and beam stabilization parameters
