We met up with Ben Alfi, CEO of Bluewhite, an autonomous tractor technology company, at the 2024 Farm Progress Show. Sharing space with New Holland at the show, the two companies are working together to incorporate more autonomous technology into agriculture and making that technology accessible at New Holland dealerships.

The technology allows tractors to operate 24/7 without an operator, through the use of cameras, sensors, GPS, liDAR, RTK and other technologies. Autonomous tractors are more efficient, reduce the use of fuel and chemicals and keep workers safe.

The technology is currently being used in commercial operations for crops like almonds, citrus, pistachios, apples, and vineyards in small-scale deployments in California and Washington state.

Alfi said that Bluewhite aims to expand in North America and globally by 2026.
