Scania showcases engines certified for Tier 4i at ConExpo-Con/Agg in Las Vegas, US

Scania will participate at ConExpo-Con/Agg in Las Vegas, US with its full range of industrial engines, all available with EU Stage IIIB and EPA Tier 4i certification using Scania-developed systems for fuel injection, engine management and emission control.

The required emission levels are achieved using only Scania SCR and Scania XPI common-rail fuel injection. No additional filters are required. The Scania XPI high-pressure injection system and the engine management system optimise the efficiency of each engine stroke. This will maximise the energy extracted from the fuel, reducing consumption while also resulting in a cleaner burn.

Developments are being completed for the next steps in emission legislation, i.e. EU Stage IV and US Tier 4f (final), effective from 2014. With only minor changes to the installation, the engines will also comply with these even stricter emission levels.

At ConExpo-Con/Agg in Las Vegas, US, booth no S-17115, Scania will show its full industrial range of 9-, 13- and 16-litre industrial engines – covering outputs from 202 to 515 kW. These engines are fitted with a unique SCR-system that is similar to Scania’s forthcoming Euro 6 system for trucks. With the Scania XPI injection system, the required levels of NOx and particulates will be met by a good margin, without the need for any kind of particulate filter.
