Poclain Hydraulic Dual Line Brake Valves for EU 2015/68 Regulation

The Poclain Hydraulics VBT and EMB brake valves distribute braking force between a tractor and trailer to help equipment meet the EU 2015/68 regulation for on-road braking.

Poclain Brake Valves

Poclain Hydraulics upgrades its braking offering to include the VBT for tractors and EMB for trailer or towed implements which comply with the EU 2015/68 regulation.

  • Distributes braking force between the tractor and the trailer
  • All-terrain, mud-resistant alternative to pneumatic technology
  • Equipped with electronic control
  • Compatible with current market solutions
  • European 2015/68 regulation steps up requirements for on-road braking for tractor/trailer set-ups by enforcing dual line braking to activate trailer brakes even if it uncouples from the tractor

VBT solution for tractor-mounted dual line braking

  • Integrates electronically controlled valve that modulates pressure sent to trailer braking system based on  brake pedal force
  • Manages control and supplementary lines of trailer regardless of the braking system used: single-line, dual-line or CUNA type for Italy
  • One valve body fits all tractor sizes
  • Braking force adjusts using electronic settings
  • Offers four enhancements: ordering the shut-off of control line in the event of a leakage, securing parking brake test functionality, filling the trailer accumulator, and synchronizing tractor and trailer emergency braking
  • Configurable for “Hill Start” (automatic parking brake actuation when the tractor stops on an uphill grade) and “Parklock” (automatic parking brake actuation when the ignition is turned off)
  • System can be set to brake the trailer when tractor decelerates if the tractor runs with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission)

EMB solution for trailer-mounted dual line braking

  • Integrates valve with embedded electronic control
  • Suitable for single, double or triple axle trailers
  • Braking force adjusts to the trailer weight and force applied to the brake pedal
  • Easy to integrate with weight information from analogic or CANbus signals
  • Compatibility of the system allows trailer manufacturers to choose the sensor used to transfer load information
  • Trailers with integrated brake actuators whose volume exceeds 140 cc (8.5 cu. in.) upgrades system with a pressure amplifier that can charge the accumulator using low pressure available on the supplementary line
  • Charging is fully automatic and transparent for the driver
