Geographical expansion remains one of the main policy priorities of the Mecalac Group. For more than four decades, through its five factories, its seven commercial subsidiaries and a global network of more than 250 dealerships, the group has been designing, manufacturing and selling construction machines specifically intended for civil and underground engineering in urban environments. In 2016, Mecalac established a presence in the United States with an initial partnership in Massachusetts. Since then, its distribution network in the United States has expanded continuously. Consequently, Mecalac has now moved into the Canadian market with three distributors who now handle the promotion, sales and marketing of Mecalac construction machinery.

Mecalac has launched its sales and marketing efforts in the United States with MCR crawler skid-excavators and AX wheel loaders. Today, sales extend across the entire product range of the group: track and wheeled excavators, compact wheel loaders, backhoe loaders, site dumpers and compaction rollers.

The ranges are being broadened, together with geographic expansion with nine distributors: H&V (Texas), Jersey Rents (New Jersey: South of interstate 195), Jet City Equipment (Washington), LF George, Inc., (Wisconsin), Lorusso Heavy Equipment LLC (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, Rhode-Island, New Hampshire), Midwest Underground (South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska), Powerco Equipment, Inc. (New Jersey: interstate 195 and North, Pennsylvania), Reynolds-Warren Equipment Co. (Georgia), Trenchers Plus, Inc. (Minnesota).

Encouraged by this success, back in 2016, the Mecalac Group opened its Boston sales subsidiary ‘Mecalac North America’. It provides support to distributors established in the USA, and also in Canada and South America.

In Canada, the provinces covered are Alberta, by Kaymor Machine & Welding Ltd., Quebec by Machineries Trakto, the provinces on the eastern seaboard of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland & Labrador by Saunders Equipment Ltd.

The compact dimensions and multi-functional capabilities of Mecalac equipment have proven very attractive in a context where construction sites in urban environments are evolving constantly.

Mecalac is delivering a truly effective solution for this, based on a single construction machine instead of using two or three on site. Therefore an urban building site run with Mecalac will be less cluttered, with a reduced risk of collisions, pollution and distractions for the on-site personnel and local residents.

Open Days, demonstrations and trials have multiplied in the various Canadian dealerships between June and September. The verdict is clear. Enthusiasm for Mecalac machinery is rising fast. Their concept and their performance levels are also delivering a genuine solution across the Atlantic, one that is in step with the way urban American building sites are evolving.

Mecalac announces its attendance at CONEXPO 2020 in Las Vegas. This will be Mecalac’s second time at this leading show for the USA construction industry. Mecalac will be delighted to welcome to its stand (1,200 sq. m/13,000 sq. ft.) a well informed public who will be able to discover and rediscover all the benefits of its machines during live demonstrations.
