The Work Truck Show Offers Variety of Learning Opportunities

Registration is now open for The Work Truck Show, which offers the work truck industry a variety of learning opportunities.

Truck equipment distributors attending The Work Truck Show 2012 have the opportunity to learn how to improve their businesses through Lean principles. NTEA, the Association for the Work Truck Industry, is offering a Special Session, “How Truck Equipment Distributors and Small Manufacturers Can Deploy Lean Principles to Maximize Productivity,” on Monday, March 5. The session covers techniques and take-aways for effectively implementing Lean concepts.

The Work Truck Show 2012, North America’s largest work truck event, is held at the Indiana Convention Center (Indianapolis, IN), March 6-8, 2012. Educational programming begins March 5. Registration is now open at www.ntea.com.

With the understanding that companies are constantly under pressure to improve operational performance and reduce costs, the Lean Principles Special Session reveals eight specific wastes that Lean targets and several common countermeasures that can be implemented for significant productivity gains. The session is led by Mark Sessumes, lean product manager, TMAC (Fort Worth, TX). He has 30 years of progressive operations management experience in diverse manufacturing and production environments.

This Special Session takes place on March 5 from 9:00am-12:00pm. A ticket is required.

The Work Truck Show 2012 educational conference includes more than 60 training sessions offering competitive strategies, technical insights and regulatory updates. Some of the educational sessions specifically designed for distributors and upfitters include: “Government Regulatory Implications for the Work Truck Industry,” “How Can Truck Equipment Manufacturers and Distributors Minimize Their Litigation Risk?” “Learning to Avoid Costly Truck Frame Modification Errors,” “What Is the Future Economic Landscape for the Work Truck Industry?” and “How Engaging Customers Can Improve Your Business.” A full course schedule is available at www.ntea.com/worktruckshow/schedule/.

The Work Truck Show 2012 covers more than 500,000 square feet with Class 1-8 trucks, components and specialized equipment from more than 550 exhibiting companies. In addition to expansive booths displaying new vehicles, 14 leading chassis manufacturers will provide detailed updates on what’s new and upcoming with their product lines, including technical information on specifications and installation.
