Kavlico employs its rugged ceramic capacitive and piezoresistive differential pressure (DP) sensors to achieve significant drops in particulate and soot emissions, maximizing engine performance and efficiency.

  • Detect a build up of pressure across a filter designed to trap particulates within the exhaust stream
  • When filter becomes saturated or close to clogging, the engine control system triggers a regeneration mode for the filter, and additional diesel fuel is added to the exhaust stream to dramatically increase the temperature in the filter
  • Causes the particulate matter in the filter to break apart into very fine particles that are then expelled through the exhaust pipe
  • The ceramic capacitive pressure sensor is capable of measuring at lower pressure ranges, and the piezoresistive sensor utilizes two elements with the pressure exposed to the back (media tolerant) side of the elements
  • Utilizes its ASIC, capable of providing anaccurate reading from -40 to 140 C
