SAE Seminar: Product Liability and the Engineer at 2012 World Congress

During this SAE Seminar, Product Liability and the Engineer, attendees will learn how the concept of safety and reliability has shifted to a legal/manufacturing approach. Engineers now need to ensure the proper steps are taken to guarantee the safety of their designs.

Once this seminar is complete, attendees will be able to:

• Relate legal concepts as they apply to the manufacturing/design process
• Use safety audit analysis techniques to minimize or eliminate product defects during design to reduce product liability
• Discuss defense of product from a legal perspective
• Recognize the importance of potential liabity as it relates to the manufacturer
