In early January Strata Proximity Systems acquired Frederick Mining Controls, giving Strata a leg up in the field of proximity detection and collision avoidance systems. Frederick Mining Controls develops and manufactures the HazardAvert system, which is being used in both U.S. mines and those around the world. The acquisition was suggested by FMC because it felt Strata had the resources to reach a larger audience and help the HazardAvert system continue to grow as a global mining safety product.
