SIKO MSK320R Bearing-Free Rotary Encoder

The SIKO MSK320R rotary encoder features two magnetic sensors and two signal conditioners in a single housing, helping to reduce installation costs, space and wiring.

In order to make it as easy as possible for manufacturers to adapt to new requirements, SIKO GmbH has developed the MSK320R bearing-free rotary encoder.

  • Designed especially for use in forklift trucks
  • Helps users implement safety requirements such as EN 1175 (safety of industrial trucks)
  • Can be used directly on wheels for speed or rotation detection in AGVs (driverless transport systems)
  • Compact design
  • Equipped with two magnetic sensors for redundant position measurement
  • Has two completely separate position channels (A1, A2, /A1, /A2, B1, B2, /B1, /B2), and can be used in combination with secure input card in overall system up to performance level PLd
  • Small, compact housing measuring 35 x 25 x 10 mm (1.37 x 0.98 x 0.39 in.)
  • Offers cost and space savings in comparison to using two separate magnetic sensors with simple channels
  • Can be used for linear displacement measurement (in combination with the MB320/1 magnetic tape) or for angle and speed detection (in combination with different SIKO rings)
  • Features IP67 safety rating
  • Wide operating temperature range from -40-85 C (-40-185 F)
  • Enables use in extreme conditions through resistance to negative temperatures and condensation, and even extreme solar radiation
  • Resistant to dust, chips, oils, grease, and moisture
  • Open, contact-free measuring system
  • Provides accuracy to 2 mm (0.08 in.)
  • Repeatability of +/- 1 increment (linear +/- 0.0125 mm)
  • Available with German plug
