Dura-Bar announces the availability of its latest ductile iron grade — Solution Strengthened Ductile Iron or SSDI.

  • Features improved strength and ductility
  • Alternative to 1045 steel used in a wide variety of oil and gas and fluid power applications
  • Enhanced machinability due to addition of silicon
  • Machining trials have yielded minimum productivity increases of approximately 30% with no negative impact in tool wear
  • Minimum tensile strength of 75,000 psi (5,171.07 bar)
  • Minimum yield strength of 55,000 psi (3,792.12 bar)
  • Minimum elongation of 15%
  • Tightened Brinell Hardness (BHN) for consistency throughout material compared to other similar ductile iron alloys
