Dura-Bar announces the availability of its latest ductile iron grade — Solution Strengthened Ductile Iron or SSDI.

Features improved strength and ductility
Alternative to 1045 steel used in a wide variety of oil and gas and fluid power applications
Enhanced machinability due to addition of silicon
Machining trials have yielded minimum productivity increases of approximately 30% with no negative impact in tool wear
Minimum tensile strength of 75,000 psi (5,171.07 bar)
Minimum yield strength of 55,000 psi (3,792.12 bar)
Minimum elongation of 15%
Tightened Brinell Hardness (BHN) for consistency throughout material compared to other similar ductile iron alloys
