Horton, Inc. announces the introduction of its Stratis viscous fan drives in anticipation of the 2010 and Euro V emissions standards. Managed by the engine’s electronic control unit for precision fan operation, the directly controlled viscous fan drives are designed to cool higher-horsepower, hotter-running engines. Stratis viscous fan drives have been tested for many hours in the laboratory and on long-haul trucks. Stratis fan drives are offered for heavy- and medium-duty applications, transit buses and off-highway equipment.
- Equipped with integral fan speed sensor that provides closed-loop control capabilities
- Lower off-speed and faster response time for optimum cooling, reduced fan noice and increased fuel efficiency
- Fan installs on front of drive
- Max torque capability of 2,225 in. lbs
- Made at Horton plants in Britton, SD, and Germany
