Viking Pump Plants 100 Trees in Honor of 100 Years

100 year anniversary, 100 trees

In honor of their 100 year anniversary, on Saturday, May 14th Viking Pump partnered with key community members to plant 100 trees.

For the past century, Viking Pump has been dedicated to the city that they call home, Cedar Falls. To show their appreciation, Viking will plant 100 trees in various locations through-out the area. The event will kick off with a commemoration first dig ceremony Saturday morning at Birdsall Park.

All in attendance will learn how to correctly plant a tree and value of adding the trees to the community.

“With over 140 people participating, trees will be planted on UNI’s campus, at Birdsall Park, and on certain residential streets in the community” says Fenton Challgren, Viking Pump General Manager. “We would like to recognize the partnerships with Cedar Falls Utilities, Cedar Falls Park and Recreation, University of Northern Iowa and Trees Forever that made this event possible. We look forward to giving a token of our appreciation to our community that has supported Viking Pump’s progress for 100 years.”
