Cat Lift Trucks scholarship program seeking applicants

For the 10th year in a row, Cat Lift Trucks will provide a $5,000 scholarship to a Houston-area high school senior.

Cat Lift Trucks, a leading provider of quality and reliable lift trucks, announces its call for applications for the Cat Lift Trucks annual scholarship program, which awards a Houston-area high school senior with a $5,000 scholarship toward higher education in the state of Texas. Now in its 10th year, the program has awarded $80,000 in scholarship funding to deserving high school seniors pursuing a degree in engineering or a business-related field at an accredited college, university or technical school in Texas.

“We are excited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Cat Lift Trucks Scholarship program in Houston,” says Kent Eudy, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Cat Lift Trucks. “To date, this program has assisted 16 Houston-area students in their pursuit of higher education, and we are honored to continue helping local students realize their goals of attending college.”

Applicants will be graded on academics, leadership and community involvement. These elements, along with two narrative essays, will be weighted equally in deciding on the 2014 scholarship finalists.

The chosen scholarship recipient will be formally awarded the funds during a reception in spring 2014 in the Cat Lift Trucks suite at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where the company will celebrate its tenth consecutive year as the event’s Official Lift Truck Provider.

The Cat Lift Trucks 2013 scholarship recipient was Melissa Gerhart, who is currently studying at Texas A&M University.
