HUSCO's excavator has a prototyping system on it with independent poppet controls. HUSCO is simultaneously developing the INCOVA advanced control system using its independent control valves and pressure sensors, but is also using the INCOVA machine as its development platform for spool valve-type systems. 'We're using the independent poppets and electronic controls to prototype virtually what a spool valve system would run to improve development cycle times versis if we had made a spool valve and had to cut spools every time we watned to try a different idea,' says Joe Pfaff, Vice President Advaned Engineering at HUSCO Intl.
