Construction Unemployment Rate Slowly Decreases

The latest economic report from the Associated Builders and Contractors shows construction unemployment is

A new report from the Associated Builders and Contractors' (ABC) chief economist shows that the construction unemployment rate has decreased to 13.3% from 13.5% in August. At this same time last year the construction unemployment rate was 17.2%.

The nonresidential construction sector had the highest increase in jobs, 11,200, in September.

ABC's Chief Economist, Anirban Basu, says the slow decrease in unemployment rates shows hope that the construction industry is headed in a positive direction. However, it's still too early to tell if current trends will continue or begin to slow down.
