The U.K. and Spain just took a HUGE step toward hydrogen fueled vehicle commercialization.

ULEMCo, is a Liverpool-based technology provider offering engineering services to convert engines to run on hydrogen, particularly commercial vehicles to run on dual fuel hydrogen diesel systems.

Spanish company H2B2 specializes in hydrogen production, processing and technology development by means of electrolysis.

And just recently, the companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enter into a non-exclusive partnership to accelerate hydrogen-fueled vehicle commercialization in the U.K. and Spain.

By combining their efforts, ULEMCo’s technology on ground vehicles and heavy-duty engines provides H2B2 with a high volume market for hydrogen, allowing it to become more economical as an alternative fuel option.

This comes just as major cities such as Madrid announce plans to ban diesel and older vehicles from their cities by 2025 to address air quality problems, making hydrogen fueled vehicles an even more attractive solution.
