Trelleborg has acquired Automated Dynamics, expanding its portfolio of composite components for the global marketplace.

Trelleborg, a world leader in engineered polymer solutions, has through its business area Trelleborg Sealing Solutions fully acquired U.S.-based privately-owned Automated Dynamics, an advanced composite components manufacturer. The bolt-on acquisition provides new, strategic technology to develop next generation composites to solve a myriad of challenging applications in industries such as marine, hydro, and aerospace, expanding into the global marketplace.

Kristian Brok, President of Global Operations Elastomers at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, says, “Automated Dynamics’ engineering know-how and cutting-edge technology is a strategically important addition to Trelleborg. The expanded scope of capabilities and technology will be leveraged within our global market presence.”

The company is located in Niskayuna, NY. Sales amounted to approximately of $7.8 million (approx. SEK 65 M) in 2016. The transaction was consolidated on December 1, 2017.
