SSAB's Hardox HiAce abrasion-resistant steel wear plate is targeted at applications in acidic and corrosive environments. 

  • Withstands acidity and corrosion  
  • Drastically slows down oxidation process, allowing the full hardness of material to counteract wear
  • Performs the same as a 450 HBW steel in regular environments
  • Lengthens equipment service life up to three times compared to a 400 HBW steel in conditions with lower pH levels
  • Able to perform as a structural material in garbage trucks, recycling containers, tipper and dump bodies and other heavy-duty equipment  
  • Works in freezing conditions, with a guaranteed impact energy of 27 J at -20 C (20 ft.-lb. at -4 F)
  • Available in thicknesses of 4-25.4 mm (5/32-1 in.)
  • Features similar mechanical properties as Hardox 450
  • Can be processed by the same kind of machinery used for other Hardox grades
  • Increased wear resistance allows for use of thinner plate without jeopardizing service life
  • Thinner steel plate means more payload when fully loaded, and improved fuel use and reduced CO2 emissions when traveling empty
