DEUTZ AG is consolidating its sustainable drive subsidiaries under a unified brand identity. Effective immediately, Urban Mobility Systems B.V. and Futavis GmbH will operate as DEUTZ NewTech Netherlands B.V. and DEUTZ NewTech GmbH, respectively.
The transition is a component of the Next DEUTZ strategy, which focuses on the company’s transformation toward sustainable and future-proof drive solutions. By aligning these entities under the DEUTZ NewTech name, the company aims to make its electrification and battery activities more recognizable to global customers.
DEUTZ NewTech Netherlands B.V., formerly Urban Mobility Systems, is an electrification specialist that has electrified more than 300 machines. Its portfolio includes battery-electric drives for off-highway applications such as excavators, wheel loaders and cranes.
DEUTZ NewTech GmbH, formerly Futavis GmbH, is based in Aachen, Germany. The company specializes in the development of modular scalable battery systems and proprietary Battery Management Systems (BMS).
"With the new company names, we are making visible what has already become reality in our daily business: we work as one NewTech team across locations on shared products and solutions," said Bert van Hasselt, CEO of the Business Unit NewTech. "The former individual company brands will become less prominent, while our technology and system expertise under the name 'DEUTZ NewTech' move even more into the spotlight."
Both companies are part of the Business Unit NewTech and work with various DEUTZ locations on the development and industrialization of battery systems, software solutions and electrified powertrain concepts. Futavis joined DEUTZ in 2019, while Urban Mobility Systems was integrated in 2025.
According to the company, the renaming will not change existing collaborations for customers or partners, and existing points of contact will remain available.
"In future, our customers will see even more clearly that all NewTech activities are part of DEUTZ — with a shared understanding of quality, a common technology roadmap and a consistent service philosophy," van Hasselt added.
