CES 2019 Emphasizes Automation and Electrification Technologies

Each year the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) brings together the latest consumer technology innovations.

Electrification, automation and other advanced technologies were on display from several companies at this year’s show, including heavy-duty vehicle and equipment manufacturers such as John Deere.

Daimler introduced its Level 2 autonomous Freightliner New Cascadia, while ProAI Inc. demonstrated its Level 4 autonomous truck on a Las Vegas truck route.

To aid development of autonomous vehicles, ZF debuted the newest version of its ProAI supercomputer.

Peterbilt debuted the Model 220EV zero-emission truck powered by two TransPower Battery packs and a Meritor Blue Horizon two-speed drive eAxle.

Kenworth announced its partnership with Toyota Motor Corp. to develop trucks powered by hydrogen fuel cell electric powertrains.
