Axiomatic’s family of rugged inclinometers and tilt sensors has a series of new low cost sensors that can measure ±90 degrees or 360 degrees angular rotation. The AX06045X series features CANopen networking for communicating the angular measurement.
- Features rugged housing with gasket and four-pin Deutsch IPD connector to achieve IP67 rating
- A model with integral 120 Ohm CAN termination resistor is available
- For CANopen models, application programming is achieved via standard and commercially-available tools for CANopen
- Supports SAE J1939 CAN interface as well, and is fully configurable using Axiomatic Electronic Assistant programming tool for PCs
- Performs pre-processing of angular information according to users’ needs
- Measures inclination angle in two orthogonal sensing directions X and Y in the range of up to ±90 degrees
- If vertically installed, it can measure an inclination angle in one sensing direction in the ±180 degrees (0-360 degrees) range
- Angles are measured by a two-axis MEMS sensor, which senses acceleration caused by gravity force
- Output signals are normalized and processed by microcontroller to receive inclination angles, which are sent to CAN bus
- Internal architecture is user-programmable and allows definition of custom functionality using a set of predefined internal functional blocks
- In tilt sensor application, an out-of-range state can be transmitted as one of its outputs
