Farm Progress Show annually hosts more than 500 exhibitors displaying new farm equipment, tractors, combines and farm implements; seed and crop protection products; and many additional farm supplies and services.
The 2020 edition of the show has been canceled due to ongoing concerns and continued uncertainty related to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will take place again in 2021 from August 31-September 2 in Decatur, IL.
However, in its place will be a virtual event called Farm Progress Virtual Experience; it will consist of various field demonstrations to provide a look at the latest agricultural equipment. Field demonstrations will be carried out each day at 9 a.m. and at 11 a.m. Organizers of the event say the demonstration program will engage multiple camera views, including from the air, so viewers can see these machines from every angle.
Ag manufacturers and suppliers from across the country and around the world typically participate in the live show. Field demonstrations are a show mainstay. Each show day field demos include side-by-side tillage, GPS and precision equipment, and tractor and combine performance comparisons on hundreds of corn acres available for harvesting. Live cattle handling demonstrations include the newest cattle chutes, equipment, animal health products and work techniques. Additionally, the show features restored antique machinery, crafts and arts displays, horse training demonstrations and entertainment.
