Novotechnik U.S. introduces the RFC4800 Series of touchless angle sensors measuring angular position up to 360 degrees, revolution counter and speed—with J1939 CANbus interface in addition to CANopen.
- Features include programmable zero point offset, measurement averaging and sign of rotational direction
- Resolution of 14-bits across 360 degrees, repeatability of 0.36 degrees and independent linearity of ±0.5% of full scale
- J1939 CANbus provides different feature set than CANopen
- J1939 protocol has transfer fixed at 250 kbit/s and defines shielded twisted pair for cables, as well as peer-to-peer or broadcast signaling and fixed messages rather than configurable
- CANopen has range if data transfer rates allowed
- Other output interfaces include analog voltage and current, as well as digital output options—IO-Link, SSI, SPI, and incremental
- Single and multi-channel versions are available
- Sealed up to IP69K
- Operating temperature range is -40-125 C (-40-257 F)
- Mean time to failure is 76 years
