Liebherr is presenting for the first time its in-house developed energy storage system "Liduro."
- For electric drive systems
- Utilizes double layer capacitor design
- Compact and liquid cooled
- Contains 1.5 MJ of energy to accumulate and supply 100 kW of power within 15 seconds with a reaction time of 500 µs
- Complete system comprises all of the individual systems and assemblies needed, thereby making integration in an application significantly easier while saving on time and material costs
- “Connect & use” system simplifies installation and operation so user only has to make arrangements for mechanical attachment and electrical wiring
- Provides option of connecting as a purely two-pin device directly to a DC link of 530-850V
- Able to accumulate defined amount of energy or supply it again by using an additional communication interface
- Capable of exchanging all processing data via the communication interface
- Up to 10 energy storage units can be connected in parallel to enable an increase in storage capacity
- Connecting units in parallel enables more power to be supplied and excess energy remains in the system to be used for subsequent work, meaning that no additional supply is required
- Testing on a mobile diesel-electric gantry crane has demonstrated fuel reduction of up to 40%, which equates to a savings of 700 L per week
- Used accordingly, cost saving of up to €18,000 per year can be achieved
- Enables use of smaller diesel engine which can be maintained at an optimized operating point, reducing emissions of harmful substances
- Double layer capacitor design offers advantages over battery-type accumulators for applications associated with a high number of charging and discharging cycles, in which high load peaks temporarily occur and long service life is essential
